Ultra-Trail des Chevaliers
A unique adventure from the peaks of the Vosges to the ramparts of Obernai.
You’ll set off from the heights of the Vosges mountains, near Lac Blanc, at over 1,100 metres above sea level. From the very first kilometres you’ll be immersed in the heart of the forest, following a mix of rocky singletrack, ridgeline crossings, and technical trails.
The route continues along the ridges, winding through deep woodland, hidden clearings, and opening up to sweeping views across the Alsace plain. You’ll pass through Aubure — the highest village in Alsace — before reaching the iconic Château du Haut-Koenigsbourg and beginning your descent into the foothills.
Throughout the course, you’ll run along trails steeped in history, you’ll pass the ruins of legendary hilltop castles — Landsberg, Bernstein, and Ortenbourg — standing watch above the forests and vineyards. These majestic sites offer panoramic views over the Alsace plain, the Black Forest, and on a clear day, even the Alps.
Finally, you’ll reach the ramparts of Obernai, bringing to a close an unforgettable journey that combines altitude, heritage and wild natural beauty.
