Presentation Trail des Pélerins
On the pilgrims' trail
Starting in Barr, the wine capital of Alsace, you’ll begin your climb into the first foothills of the Vosges. The trail rises steeply, drawing you into an ancient forest where the castles of Landsberg and Birkenfels stand as silent sentinels of a distant past.
You’ll then follow the Chemin de Croix (Way of the Cross), a sacred path that leads to Hohenbourg Abbey, perched high atop the legendary Mont Sainte-Odile. Each step, each ceramic tile encountered along the way tells a story, deepening your connection to this spiritual sanctuary overlooking the Alsace plain.
The descent is fast and wild, skirting the hushed ruins of Niedermunster Abbey, before heading towards your final destination: the ramparts of Obernai.
